{Fall Style Is On Target}

I adore Target but the one in DC isn’t exactly the greatest, I rarely go there. Their shoe selection leaves a lot to be desired. However, I love going to Target when I’m home and I go very occasionally in Virginia.

A couple of weeks ago, I decided to use my $25 gift card to Target I had lying around since last Christmas. I spied their loafers and it was a done deal. I even resisted my urge to purchase the pink pair in favor of the red, perfect for autumn through the winter!

{More on these beauties in a later post}

Target is my go-to for cute shoes and swim suits  but I never really ventured into the clothing section. Well, that might have to change. These pieces from Target are perfect for building up your fall wardrobe and won’t break the bank! You can really mix and match for a varied wardrobe without buying a million pieces. Ah, the beauty of wardrobe staples.

Cable Pleated Sweater Dress

I love this dress in nightfall blue! You can wear it as is for those still warm early fall days. As it gets cooler, pair it with a simple white oxford underneath to work, internship, church, etc. Add a strand of pearls and a classic watch with loafers or riding boots and you are all set!

Blazer

If you’re really going for classic, you cannot beat a good blazer. I love cardigans but blazers are a great alternative if you want to switch up an old routine. Blazers add a touch of sophistication to any outfit, whether it’s a striped tee and leggings to class or over the sweater dress above to work!

Ponte Dress

This dress is so effortlessly chic for those mornings when you find yourself rolling out of bed and just need to “throw something on” before running out the door. I would style this dress with a long necklace, black opaque tights and riding boots. Which brings me to the next item…

Riding Boots

Would you believe these are only $40?? I love riding boots but have always been a little picky about the features. These fit the bill though. I love the two buckles and full side zipper for easy on/off. Riding boots are easily one of my favorite pieces for autumn style and would look great with any of the staple pieces in this post.

If you are looking to add a pop of color to all the fall neutrals, I am loving this fall color by Essie! It’s called Recessionista, with which I think we can all identify as we balance style with savings.

What are your fall staples? How are you a Recessionista?

    i’ve always been a HUGE fan of target clothes but i agree the one in DC isn’t the best. i just ordered 2 pairs of colored cords for $20 each online and they are awesome–i was shocked as well. they run small though so go up a size.
