star power by spanx

Last night at Elizabeth’s of So Much To Smile About Star Power by Spanx event at Macy’s, it hit me like a ton of bricks: I am turning into my mother.

Starting in middle school, my mother was constantly chasing after me to wear one piece undergarments to avoid panty lines. I thought they were hideous and wondered why my mother hated me. These undergarments, along with my refusal to curl my hair every day, were sore subjects between my mother and myself. Until last night, when I found myself oohing and ahhing over SpanxSpanx 1Spanx 2Spanx modelTextured tights are a must for the fall & winter in my wardrobe so I love love love that Spanx has those tights we all love to wear with boots or even flats but with the added bonus of having a sleek silhouette (read: sucking everything in).

And the snacks…Spanx 3Spanx 5Spanx 4I tried the Sparkling Ice Peach Nectarine and I have to say I loved it! Coming from a Diet Coke enthusiast, it was a pleasant change from my regular fizzy drink fix. Perhaps a good Thirsty Thursday cocktail mixer for the future?

And the corset cookies? There are just no words. Spanx 6Spanx did not disappoint with their gift bags (my PR brain silently thanked the interns or entry levels who probably spent the afternoon filling them). Nail polish, my favorite Lancome Bi-Facil eye makeup remover and adorable mini cupcakes from Baked By Melissa. All in a handy bag that I’m currently using as I’m traveling home tonight.

Thank you to Elizabeth for a wonderful event! If you don’t already, go read her blog (she’s also a DC girl!).
