avocado tuna salad recipe

With bathing suit season in full swing, I bet I’m not the only one who’s looking to make some healthy switches in our diet. And by diet, I mean what you eat every day, not diet as in “Tomorrow, I’m totally going to start my diet. But first let me eat 10 cookies.”

A couple of weeks ago, I had a serious craving for tuna salad. Could not stop thinking about it…until I realized I didn’t necessarily want to glop on all that mayo because you know, #beachbody2014. Then, my cousin gave me a genius solution. Two words: mashed. avocado.

** Insert heavenly choir here **

This was a total game changer. I got my tuna salad fix in, my waistline didn’t have to pay the price. I laughed, I cried, it was better than Cats.

The beauty of this dish is that it takes about 10 minutes to prepare and you can customize it to fit your tastebuds. Let’s get to the basics and then I’ll chat more about customization.

It is so good and I love that you can tweak and customize it, I love adding spicy peppers or sriracha into the mix!

tried it sans celery and it was good. And yes, a kick would not hurt. It is so light and filling for lunch too
