Union Market in Washington, DC - DC Girl in Pearls

This weekend was incredible! Baking, check. Reading for fun, check. Eating THE best black bean burger + fries with my college roomie, check. Conquering Making steps towards learning my camera’s settings, check. And I finally hit 10,000 steps on my pedometer yesterday! On a whim, I downloaded a free pedometer on my iPhone because I was curious to see how many steps I take in a day. I knew most of my exercise comes from walking to and from work each day but my god, I didn’t realize how sedentary I’d become until I looked at my pedometer. On a regular weekday, I’m lucky to hit 3,000 steps. No bueno.

So I’ve resolved to get myself walking more (When I say I can’t run, I mean it) and for that I need two things: better weather and entertainment. The weather, I get that I can’t control. And looking at DC’s 10 day forecast, I see not one but TWO snow shower days. Move to DC, they said. It’ll be so warm, they said. LIES!

Controlling the weather is off the table but hey, entertainment can be done. It seems like everyone is hooked on Serial, which makes me wonder: What solid podcasts are out there? Do you listen to podcasts? Recipes, politics, meditation, financial tips, the sky’s the limit! Anyone have a good recommendation for some walking amusement?!

I LOVE listening to Tranquility Du Jour. Kimberly is AWESOME – she covers everything from yoga to fashion, to financial tips. I’m also a huge fan of the Wardrobe Code podcast. I’d love to sort of branch out and find other ones though! Let me know what you end up finding.

Wardrobe Code sounds intriguing and I definitely need to branch out, too. Who knew there was such a world of podcasts?!

I didn’t know Alton Brown had a podcast?! That’s awesome and will totally help with my Food Network withdrawal (it’s bad, I tell ya!). Thanks!
