Oh hey Wednesday, how you doin’?

I’ve been on a pretty productive kick so far this week. Barre class (a preemptive Thanksgiving/birthday strike) and slow cooker chicken tortilla soup and blog work = the height of PM productivity for me. Oh, and reading The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up. Which to be honest is a bit rough going for an overly sentimental hoarder like myself.

With the holiday season pretty much here already, I’ve been going full-charge with to-do lists, drowning in post-it notes. It makes me just want to take a pause and think about calmer weekends filled with brunches that last for hours and marathon gabfests.

My long-distance friend Kendall snapped these photos for me after a rather successful bottomless brunch at Cava Mezze. Seriously, if you’re in DC, go to Cava for brunch. It’s $30 bottomless plates and penny mimosas and trust me, you get your money’s worth. Pro tip: They open at 11 and you’ll want to get there right on time because that place is rockin’ by 11:30 and seating will be short.

Amazing Saturday Checklist:

Best friend, check.

Delicious Mediterranean small plates, check.

Mimosas, double check.

Comfy outfit to wear while catching up on pretty much everything in the world while simultaneously shoveling lamb eggs Benedict into my mouth as fast as humanly possible, check.

If I could live in my LL Bean French sailor’s shirt, I probably would. I have 2 of these bad boys and probably wear them about once a week. Crazy? Oh yeah, crazy comfy. That and the fact that these shirts are pretty much meant-to-be with puffer vests has me {Praise Hands Emoji}{100 Emoji}.

The LL Bean French sailor’s shirt does run small and have a good amount of give, which makes them perfect for layering without stretching your favorite top.

The rest of my outfit is pretty neutral: dark jeans, white Keds, taupe vest so I needed a splash of color. Hellooo, colorful flannel! J.Crew Factory is sold out of this exact shirt but they have an awesome red + green flannel shirt. How great would that shirt be layered under a black work dress for your office holiday party?! Add some sparkly earrings and you’re set. Oh god, we’re already talking about Christmas. Moving on.
