It really took all of my willpower not to swan dive into this Frangelico cocktail. And you know that my willpower is effectively nonexistent. But I did it.
I also resisted all temptation to throw this cocktail into a blender and add a few generous scoops of French vanilla ice cream and make probably the most amazing milkshake of all time. Are you proud or disappointed? Both?
I get it. Cocktails as heavenly as this one can cause all kinds of feelings.
If you aren’t familiar with Frangelico, let me bring you up to speed: it’s a liqueur made from hazelnuts in Northern Italy. Essentially Nutella’s boozy sister. Don’t worry, I’ll give you a minute to process that something as amazing as that exists in this world. Take all the time you need, I’ll be right here.
Good? Great. So Frangelico tastes delicious mixed into coffee (I’ll have to try it with chai for me…could be a pretty bomb iced chai, right?!) as well as Diet Coke or even served with just a squeeze of lime. Note to self: Try that as soon as summer arrives!
With the Oscars this weekend, I wanted to create a fun, “red carpet-ready” cocktail to sip while watching (read:judging the outfits). I’m the worst when it comes to movies so I don’t really have much of an opinion to give about the movies but the ensembles? All. Day. Long.
My inspiration for this cocktail came from The Chocolate Bar, a dessert martini bar where my mom took me for my first legal drink. My birthday’s right near Thanksgiving/the start of the Christmas season so it’s always a whirlwind of activities. My mom realized that we’d been so busy running errands that I hadn’t taken advantage of my newly minuted “no longer under 21” license so we stopped to get a drink. And then had 3. They hit the spot and tasted amazing that we didn’t realize how strong they actually were 😬 But hey, it was all in good fun! And seriously, a hazelnut spread-rimmed martini glass? That’s the dream!
