Spring Reading List

It’s the second day of March and I already feel like the month has gone by. I was filling out my calendar for the month and planning blog posts and I’m pretty sure I blinked and suddenly it was March 20th. I’ve heading to my friend’s wedding in Park City in about a week and a half, I’ve never been so if you have any recs of places to go, eat, drink, etc. please let me know!! It’ll be a busy weekend of wedding activities but I do want to do a little exploring.

I fly out of DC at about 6 in the morning so I’ll probably just pass out as soon as I sit down on the plane but once I get on the second leg of my journey from Chicago to Salt Lake City, I’m going to be bouncing off the walls. Thanks to caffeine and all the love/excitement I have about this wedding! But also because I’ve been spoiled from years of really only flying from DC –> BUF, which is about a 50 minute flight. After 50 minutes, I get antsy in a big way. My poor, poor planemates. They’re just living their lives right now, blissfully unaware of what’s about to happen to them.

When I was in middle school and I’d go on Easter vacation with my family for 2 weeks, I’d pack at least 5 books and I’d probably go to the book store at least once during that time. I’m a voracious vacation reader, probably because it’s one of the few times each year that I can just sit down and not worry about emails, phone, school, etc. Just me, the sun, and my book. Well, and nowadays this scenario involving an adult beverage…

So I need your help. I’m trying to stock up on as much reading as possible for my trip to make sure I’m entertained the whole time. For my sake and the sake of my fellow passengers, what books are you currently reading and love? Are on your all-time must-read list? Fiction and non-fiction, welcome!

You had Reconstructing Amelia on your last reading list so I added it to my Audible Que and I thought it was great. It was right up my alley because I like YA lit and mystery/thrillers.

One recommendation I’d make is a book called The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah. It’s set in France during WWII but it’s also about sisters and relationships. I couldn’t put it down.

I know! It slipped to the bottom of my reading list and I haven’t picked it up yet. So I’m hoping my March travelling will be the motivation to finally start it since I’ve heard only rave reviews.

Adding The Nightingale to my list now! Thanks for the rec 🙂

I love Park City. Any place on Main Street is fun to go to. But- be aware of the wonky drinking laws in Utah- it’s not a bar but a “private club” that you pay a “membership fee” to enter. Also it’s 3/2 beer because …it’s crazy Utah drinking laws. I’m in the middle of reading The Hotel on the Place Vendome- about the Hotel Ritz during WWII and and the spying going on there.

The Defining Decade has been on my bookshelf for far too long! My best friend read it and said it was really helpful… one day I will get around to reading it haha
