Remember Monday’s dress from ThredUp? We’re gonna shift gears here and take this floral print shift from brunch to business. But first, in case you’re new here, I’ll bring you up to speed. ThredUp is an online consignment shop where you can buy and sell designer threads from the comforts of your bed. They are truly doing the Lord’s work. 🙌
I snagged this floral print shift for $25 and I loved that with its modest hemline, I could wear this dress any day of the week. It’s all about the bang for your buck, people. And this dress has it! I work in a conservative work environment so sleeveless shifts are a no-go, gotta cover those shoulders up. Most days if I’m just going to be at my desk, I’ll throw on a cardigan (J.Crew’s Jackie cardigans are a long-time favorite but Factory Clare cardigans are identical + usually on sale!). But some days, I want to go for a more sophisticated, polished look I reach for a blazer. I shunned blazers for the longest time because I thought they made my shoulders look broader but then I got a grip on myself and my ridiculous hangup. I opt for a more fitted petite blazer so I know the sleeves will end where I need them to and I don’t feel like I’m swimming in the blazer.
I’ve been searching for a chambray blazer for over a year to add to my spring wardrobe so when I spotted it on ThredUp, I pretty much jumped for joy. The quest was complete and like this floral shift, I’ve worn it as much as humanly possible since it arrived. True story: I’m wearing it today. Right now, LOFT has an identical chambray blazer 40% off 💁
With DC’s swampy summer humidity kicking in any day now, I rounded up a bunch of blazers + dresses to mix ‘n match to keep you cool as a cucumber and looking professional. It can be done!
