Florals for the Weekend

LOFT Dress (c/o ThredUp) // Wedge Sandals (similar: one, two, three) // Cork Clutch // Panama Hat // Aviators

I know what you’re thinking: Florals for spring? Groundbreaking. You might also be wondering why I fell off the face of the Earth for almost 2 weeks. I had a family emergency that caused me to fly back home to New York on a few hours’ notice and for the last few days, my priorities were helping out and taking care of my family as much as I could. And now I’m back in DC and trying to get back into my routine, including posting blog content. I have a backlog of outfits, recipes and cocktails so let’s get back to regular programming!

When it comes to shopping, I ask myself two questions before purchasing: 1. Can I wear this on the weekend and to the office? 2. Is it on sale/am I getting a good deal?

Living in DC, I keep myself on a budget by packing breakfasts and lunches, only eating out on weekends and opting for the Metro over an Uber. But what about building a wardrobe?

Consignment shops are a treasure trove of designer threads at a very reasonable price. But being able to shop for affordable, cute consignment clothes online from the comforts of your bed while in your PJs and feasting on a spicy jalapeño bagel? That’s the dream.

There’s seriously nothing better than the thrill of knowing you got a killer bargain, am I right? I might not know much about a runner’s high but I do know quite a bit about the shopper’s high. When ThredUp reached out to collaborate, I jumped at the challenge to style an outfit two ways: For work and weekend.

Let’s chat about ThredUp.

LOFT, J.Crew, Anthropologie, J.McLaughlin, Kate Spade are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the designers on ThredUp and I.am.hooked. It’s an online consignment shop where you can shop and sell designer clothes. Essentially my nirvana. Browsing through ThredUp, this floral dress from LOFT caught my eye. It was $25 (You read that right), brightly colored, a fun floral print and hits just above my knee, making it the perfect canvas to style for work and weekend.

For a weekend brunch or an afternoon date, I let the dress speak for itself and accessorized with a cork clutch, tan wedge sandals and a Panama hat. My cork clutch is back on sale at J.Crew Factory for $29, scoop it up while you can!

Come back on Wednesday to see how I styled this dress for 9-5! It’s become a regular in my weekly rotation for work outfits. As in I’ve worn it every week since I got it. 🙈

But a good deal is always something to smile about 😊
