Fall Wardrobe Staples

How to Style L.L. Bean Boots | dcgirlinpearls.com

Okay so it’s officially fall and I’ve kinda sort made my peace that Summer 2016 is a wrap. Football helps a lot with this transition. Next weekend my friends and I are heading to Annapolis to watch Navy take on UConn and I’m counting down the hours until we’re outside the stadium tailgating with Bloody Marys. And then Sunday, my Bills take on the Ravens in Baltimore. So much football, so much yas. Although last weekend was pretty epic.

I flew to Chicago on Friday to watch one of my college best friends get married in quite possibly the most beautiful wedding location ever: the Adler Planetarium. I cried approximately 17 times. Is anyone else a big wedding crier? I swear, I turn into Niagara Falls. She was a gorgeous bride and her now-husband was beaming from ear to ear the entire time. I was so happy to be a part of the celebration and let me tell you, my college friends and I celebrated. You couldn’t get us off the dance floor, except maybe to get another drink. By the end of the night, I was one song away from completely losing my voice. Totally worth it.

Now I’m back in DC and in the middle of rolling out my fall wardrobe and taking inventory of items to keep and items to donate. And I’m getting pretty excited as I’m going through my fall wardrobe staples. I’m already well into October planning out a bunch of fall style posts. Spoiler alert: There will be Bean boots and flannel.

I finally bought a navy puffer vest like you have in this post but have no idea how to style it-any advice?

Oh nice! You’ll love it, I get a lot of mileage out my vest in the fall and under coats in the winter to really bundle up. In the photo above, I styled it with a cable knit sweater, jeans and a blanket scarf. I’ve also worn it with a gingham shirt and wool skirt with riding boots. Puffer vests would also look really cute with a long-sleeve tshirt dress for those in-between weather days. I’ll be sure to post a few puffer vest style posts this fall!

Loving your boots! One day I will finally buy a pair, but they aren’t going to be too useful in Florida haha

Ha I can’t imagine you’d get too much wear out of them in Florida! 😂 But it’d be nice to wear sandals all year long so I guess it evens out
