Fall Favorites at Trader Joe’s

Fall Favorites at Trader Joe's | dcgirlinpearls.com

At the risk of sounding crazy, I have two separate lists for grocery shopping in my “Notes” app. List #1 consists of all the items I need to pick up that week at Trader Joe’s and I also map out the different meals I can make that week to make sure I don’t forget an ingredient. And we haven’t even gotten to the crazy part. List #2 is really where you start to be concerned about my state of mind.

Perusing the aisles of Trader Joe’s, there’s a veritable treasure trove of goodies that have a very sneaky way of falling into your cart. It’s just way too easy to walk out of that store armed with all the snacks, frozen pizzas and crazy culinary knick-knacks. So to keep my shopping cart + wallet happy, I started List #2. Anytime I see a funky, new-to-me product from TJ’s, I put it on the list and each time I go shopping, I pick an item from that list and into my cart it goes.

List #2 has had its share of hits and misses but when it comes to fall, Trader Joe’s really knocks it out of the park. Probably out of the list above, the pumpkin cream cheese spread and pumpkin ice cream are the top favorites. If TJ’s does one product right, it’s their seasonal ice cream flavors. Winter wouldn’t be the same without their eggnog ice cream and fall definitely wouldn’t be the same without their pumpkin ice cream. I’m not a PSL fan but this pumpkin ice cream is what autumn dreams are made of.

The #2 slot: Pumpkin Spice Caramel Corn. But fair warning, there’s about a 90% chance that you will finish the bag within 36 hours of bringing it home. And in case you’re wondering what else you can do with their Pumpkin Pie Spice Cookie Butter (aside from attacking it with a spoon), you can win the fall season with this Pumpkin Pie Spice Cookie Butter Magic Shell sundae.

What are your favorite fall picks from Trader Joe’s?

That’s actually a brilliant way to shop TJs. Have you tried “a pumpkin walks into a bar”? I normally stockpile those!

I’ve tried other “Walks into a bar” because honestly with that name, how could you not?! Also, thank you not thinking I’m crazy with my TJ’s shopping methods haha

We like the Trader Joe breakfast bars in the Pumpkin flavor and the Pumpkin Kringle is tasty too.

What’s the Pumpkin Kringle? I haven’t seen that yet!

It is a coffeecake like item. The Kringle is from Wisconsin.

Ooh good to know, I’ll look for it! At my TJ’s, the baked goods are right by the checkout line so I try to keep my eyes straight ahead, otherwise I’d walk out with so many brownies and pies!

I’m obsessed with their pumpkin ice cream! It’s so good! I also picked up a box of yogurt-covered pumpkin spice cookies the other day, and they’re amazing too!

I haven’t checked out their yogurt-covered cookies yet, I’ll be sure to search for them on my next trip!
