Fall has officially descended on DC and after a summer of praying at the altar of air conditioning and reminding myself that I chose to live in a city built on a swamp, I’m pretty excited to pack up the shorts and sundresses and pull out the layers and flannels. Not gonna lie, Saturday’s rain made me downright giddy about taking out my Bean Boots (P.S. They’re on sale right now so get ’em while you can!). A rainy Saturday morning was the perfect time to knock out all my errands so I could spend the rest of the day unwinding. Friends, football + chili, it just doesn’t get much better than that.
And with the official appearance of fall, it also means it’s vest season! Arguably the best season of all. Honestly, I probably love vests mostly for their pockets. Anything with pockets is an automatic winner in my book. Vests, dresses, blazers, skirts. If there’s a pocket, I’m sold. This J.Crew Factory wool sidewalk skirt has been a serious staple in my fall + winter wardrobe for years. Add a blazer and a blouse and it’s perfect for a more casual Thursday or Friday at the office.
