This weekend was one of the most productive I’ve had in a long time! With DC’s crazy weather, I have been procrastinating switching wardrobes from summer to fall. Which means there was a pile the size of a mountain at the foot of my bed, surrounded by empty Space Bags. But now that we’ve embraced fall full-time (about time), I made the full switch.
With the clothes pile conquered, I moved onto other areas of my apartment. I vacuumed, meal prepped, did laundry, knocked out 3 blog posts and started brainstorming holiday content. I even snuck in 2 Platform classes, which means as I type this I am incredibly sore and am already dreading rolling out of bed tomorrow. Ouch.
I also made not one but TWO curries this weekend using up produce in my fridge. Lately, I’ve been craving spicy curry and I 100% blame the rapidly cold weather for this one. There’s just something about wrapping yourself around a warm bowl of vegetables and curry broth. It’s just good for the soul.
Gingham button down, puffer vest and Bean boots are the comfort food combo of fall style. We’ve established that vest season is the best season but really, right now it’s all about the L.L. Bean boots. These are classics for a reason: They’re built to withstand rain, snow and sleet and will last you years, never going out of style. They’re in stock right now but typically sell out so you better hurry!!
When I’m running errands around town on the weekend, I typically wear a variation of this outfit. A button down, jeans, vest and boots are the way to go, comfort is key when you’re on the move trying to pack as much into a weekend day as possible. Depending on the day, I’ll throw on a baseball hat to keep my hair out of my eyes. And then it’s time to be a weekend warrior!
What is your weekend uniform? How do you stay motivated on weekends to GSD when all you really want to do is hang out on the couch with a big bowl of curry?
