What I Wore to a New Orleans Wedding

Dress: LOFT Blush Eyelet Dress (Sadly this exact dress is not currently in stock. I love this eyelet flutter sleeve dress – it’s 40% off) | Earrings: Mini Pinata Earrings | Shoes: Steve Madden Carrson | Clutch: J.Crew Factory Cork Clutch

A couple of weeks ago, I boarded a plane at 6 a.m. to head to New Orleans for a friend’s wedding. Fun story: She was actually my internship supervisor but we quickly became friends. She moved away from DC a few years ago for an incredible job opportunity so I was incredibly happy to meet up with her in New Orleans to catch up in person and celebrate her marriage!

When the invitation for her New Orleans wedding came in the mail, I knew I had to start shopping for a summer wedding outfit. Cotton and linen only. The humidity in New Orleans is no joke, people.

By sheer luck, I quickly found this LOFT blush eyelet dress (Breathable fabric for the win) and even better – it was on major sale. I decided to go all-in with this blush color palette and packed my new favorite earrings (Last styled here) to add some glam.

To top off my summer wedding outfit, I reached for my nudge wedges. Unfortunately, my nude wedges had seen better days and I wasn’t sure I could count on them to survive a wedding and then the dance floor. I picked up these sandals in taupe, I love the gray undertones in them. They turned out to be pretty comfy shoes for dancing though I did switch to my tried ‘n true Jacks for the post-reception party.

Did you catch my guide to where to eat in New Orleans? Thank goodness I was walking so much, otherwise I’m not sure if my dress would’ve have zipped!
