IT Cosmetics Skincare Review: Miracle Water, Secret Sauce + Bye Bye Redness

IT Cosmetics Miracle Water, Secret Sauce and Bye Bye Redness | @dcgirlinpearls

As I get older, I prioritize taking care of my skin more and more. I was jolted into this a few years ago by a PSA (Yup, those apparently do work) that listed the five criteria of people most likely to develop skin cancer, I had 3. I immediately texted my mom in a panic asking for the name of her dermatologist so I could get an appointment next week when I was home. It was a reality slap (almost literally) and I started wearing baseball hats to the pool and upping my SPF level.

I also started making it more of a point to moisturize my skin in the morning and at night. After a long day, I could get lazy about just washing my face or even using a makeup wipe before face-planting into my pillow. I’d sometimes get into a streak of remembering to moisturize, then forget one day and it was back to square one. It was just so easy to fall out of the habit. I did a little experiment and placed my facial moisturizer on my bedside table. It was a success! Even if I’m half-asleep (thank you, chewable melatonin!), I’ll remember to moisturize since it’s staring me right in the face.

IT Cosmetics sent me a package several weeks ago with some new skincare products to test out. I’m a huge fan of IT Cosmetics and use their CC cream, undereye concealer and mascara every day. I was excited to try out their Secret Sauce, Bye Bye Redness and Miracle Water. I wanted to give it a fair shot so I’ve been using these skincare products consistently for several weeks now so let’s get into it!

Secret Sauce

First up is IT Cosmetics Secret Sauce! This moisturizer is incredibly light (I swear it feels like a cloud) and at first touch, it does feel a bit oilier than other moisturizers. I have oily skin so this was an immediate red flag at first but Secret Sauce quickly absorbs into the skin without a trace. Crisis and potential breakouts avoided. It was a fresh, clean scent, which is perfect if you like to avoid heavily perfumed moisturizers. Secret Sauce gives your skin an instant hit of hydration and I noticed the pesky lines on my forehead appear less pronounced. It’s a bit pricey at $68 but a little bit goes a long way – you’ll definitely get your money’s worth.

Bye Bye Redness

Bye Bye Redness is a light shade of mint green out of the jar – don’t worry, you won’t end up looking like the Wicked Witch after applying. It’s a little bit heavier of a cream than the Secret Sauce but like the Secret Sauce, it absorbs almost instantly. Bye Bye Redness packs a two-punch as a moisturizer, it soothes inflamed skin while also hydrating. I have a touch of rosacea on my cheeks (Fun times) so I was excited to give this a whirl to see if it delivered. I’m happy to say I did see a noticeable improvement in my cheeks! I switched between Bye Bye Redness and Secret Sauce every other day during this test drive. It’s a bit less expensive at $48 a pop but if you have rosacea like me, I’d highly recommend this product! Miracle Water

I mean, the name had a LOT to live up to. The word “miracle” is in it after all! If it wasn’t for its ability to remove makeup (including eye makeup), I’d think Miracle Water was just plain water. I have to admit, I was skeptical when I read the instructions not to rinse the tonic after applying it and instead pat it into the skin until absorbed. Again, with my oily skin, I thought I was doomed to wake up with a face full of zits. Miraculously (see what I did there?) that did not happen and I became a true believer. While you can use Miracle Water instead of your cleanser, I prefer to use it after washing my face and before I moisturize. I added Miracle Water to my nightly skincare routine and it’s incredible how it removes dirt and other impurities even after I just washed my face. My skin also appears brighter after I use it! Miracle Water is $38 and like the other IT Cosmetics skincare products, it’s made to last. I’ve been using it daily and the bottle is still 98% full.
