Last week, I traveled down to New Orleans for a friend’s wedding and I had an incredible time. I’d been to New Orleans once before but stuck to the very touristy side *cough Bourbon Street cough*. But I absolutely loved the architecture and vibe of the city and knew I wanted to explore more on my next visit. I was traveling alone, which I’d never done before, and my itinerary was completely my own. I prioritized what really matters to me: Food and ghost tours. Both were out of this world. I’ll talk more about the ghost tours at a later post so let’s get down where to eat in New Orleans!
How did we get through life before Amazon Prime? I mean, really. The ability to shop for seriously everything you could ever possibly want while sitting at home in your PJs is a religious experience. And then it arrives on your doorstep in TWO DAYS? God bless you, Internet.
Today’s Amazon Prime Day – a shopping day exclusively for Prime shoppers. If you aren’t already a Prime member, what are you waiting for? Get on it! On Amazon Prime Day, there are new deals popping up all day long so be sure to hit refresh.
I’ve rounded up my favorite Amazon items – it’s no exaggeration that I couldn’t live without these awesome items. Happy Prime Day!
Yikes. I tried to get this post up and at ’em yesterday but my Internet decided instead to grind to a halt so here we are. If you’re looking for the usual Thursday cocktail post, check back with me tomorrow (I promise it’s a good one). It’s officially officially summer and I started to map out Summer 2017. My family is visiting me in DC for the 4th of July, I’ll be flying to New Orleans at the end of July for a friend’s wedding and then sometime in August visiting the new Arizona home. And in between a zillion other events I marked down in my planner. I started to see the not-so-lazy (apparently) days of summer fly by on the calendar and it made my head swim.
IZZE inspired me to chat about how I’m kicking off Summer 2017 and while normally I’d say a big BBQ blowout or hosting a brunch with friends. Both are things I’ll definitely do this summer but right now I’m kicking off Summer 2017 by adding “me time” to the calendar. I know that sounds pretty ridiculous since I’m not married and I don’t have kids – the idea is I have endless “me time.” What I’m talking about is making a point to set aside time where you aren’t distracted or thinking about something you should be doing.
