Happy November!! November is my favorite month of the year, hand’s down. The weather is the perfect blend of sunny with a slight chill in the air, the best time to break out your puffer vest. The leaves are at their peak with colors so vibrant they don’t seem real. And I’ll let you in on a little secret, I’ve always loved Thanksgiving over Christmas. That’s probably sacrilegious and I paused a moment for a lightning bolt to strike me down after I typed that but it’s true. Don’t get me wrong, I love Christmas carols with the best of ’em and will binge-watch the Rudolph claymation movies with my family while actually bingeing on homemade Christmas cookies. But for me, Thanksgiving is a time to pause and think about the year that’s almost over and the year that’s to come. My birthday is just a few days after Thanksgiving so the self-reflection is at an all-time high.
I’m slowly but surely accepting it’s fall. I broke out my puffer vest last rainy weekend and I even picked up pumpkin pie spice cookie butter at Trader Joe’s. For whatever reason, my sweet tooth was
obnoxious as all get out active last week but I had nothing sweet whatsoever on hand to get my fix. It was pretty touch ‘n go so I caved and picked up the pumpkin pie spice cookie butter in case of emergencies. And also I was going through the blog archives to categorize everything for the new navigation bar and rediscovered my Pumpkin Pie Spice Cookie Butter Magic Shell sundae. So that’s definitely happening soon.
Hi friends! This weekend was filled with football, family and friends just the way it should be. My dad came down from New York to go to the Bills-Ravens game on Sunday with his fire buddies but we did get some dad-daughter time in on Friday and Saturday when we headed for Annapolis to watch Navy take on UConn! It was a close game but Navy squeaked out a W against the Huskies and after we headed to my friend’s parents’ home to watch the Battle at Bristol. And of course, no trip to Annapolis can be complete without a visit to Pusser’s for a Painkiller…
