Whenever I have a particularly long week at work or when I was in school, I’d set my sights on the weekend and give myself a project. Whether it was visiting a farmer’s market or taking a long bath, I focus on something that will be relaxing over the weekend. And then create a mental countdown to said luxurious event.

This weekend’s project? Bake a cake.

For the last couple of weeks, I’ve gotten it into my head that I should bake a cake. So I went to the new Home Goods in Georgetown and bought a cake stand for $14. Now, I just need a cake to lovingly set on it. I’ve narrowed it down to three scrumptious looking options. Which is your favorite? I’m leaning towards the Pumpkin Dream Cake.
